Hair Diary 8/16/16

I can’t be the only person that sometimes feels overwhelmed for absolutely no reason what so ever? I hope not because that would be pretty lonely. This past Saturday I practiced Bantu knotting my hair for the first time in a while. I loved them so much kept them in through the weekend particularly because they complimented the outfits my friends and I wore partipating in the Charleston Pride Parade spreading safe sex information–the most fun I had the entire weekend. I tried out some products I picked up after spending some time on a few natural hair forums scouring for suggestions. I am really trying to play around with different products and homemade hair therapies this fall. I was surprised my Bantu knots unraveled into voluminous curls. But then again when are voluminous curls ever a negative.

Last night I decided I wanted to try a fro hawk but my curls are super tight and I need time to stretch it out with little to no effort on my part. Two strands were suggested by a friend and so two strands I made. Usually, I twist my hair with a thick moisturizer and gel, but this time I decided to try the same products I played around with for the bantu knots—check out the product list below–. So far I am pretty content  with how the twists turned out. It is always a relief when your hair survives a full night of  tossing and turning through the night as well as my cats attempt to swipe at them when I woke up for work. I’m hoping they last until Thursday, giving me time to go product shopping later this week. That being said I need some help. I’m planning on stocking up on products for a while, a task that I thankfully only seem to undertake every 3 to 4 months.  I am completely out of shampoo and my favorite conditioner as well as leave in conditioner, moisturizer and I’m running low on essential oils. I’ve already started working on my product list (really just comparing product reviews and prices) for the regimen I’m putting myself on for a while. I am definitely hoping to achieve a lot of hair growth this fall. I’m looking for products that stimulate hair growth, are also light and not super heavy on my hair, but are also in the budget. I am guilty of going shopping and being a spontaneous shopper. Buying products I rarely use and/or they don’t last long. So planning out what I intend to buy and from where helps me save time and money. Don’t get me wrong  I do have my favoritess, however I am hoping for suggestions from y’all. I want to know what you are are using and why/how it’s working for you. I really want to add some variety to my routine otherwise I’ll remain a creature of habit. Feel free to comment below, or message me back on IG. Happy Tuesday, don’t fret Friday is around the corner.

Ciao

  1. My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on several websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Honestly I’m not sure about that. I was able to import my old blog from a standard wordpress plan to my new .com page fairly easy. I would suggest checking the FAQ page on blogengine.net to see if importing your old blog is a possibility. Best
