Curly Travels w/ Granny

April 20, 2017

After a long and unexpectedly nauseating morning I am finally relaxing in the bed.

Ever since I became a flight attendant the number one statement like question I am asked is “ I bet you love those travel benefits”. My answer is always something modest in nature while internally I’m screaming…

“Ya darn skippy bruh”.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of reuniting with my maternal grandmother after almost 17 years. All thanks to my new job you better believe I am grateful!  I’ve been to Newark 3 times since January for work but never long enough to leave the airport and spend time with her.  So last month I put in my schedule bid praying that the scheduling gods would grant me a day or two to make the trip.  Not only did they pull through but I even had the time to pick up a trip while I was in town since Newark is a base for my company.

Scheduling Gods-the mighty women and men behind the crew scheduling screen.

I was so nervous I forgot to capture key moments to share on my vlog, an epic fail I know.  All in all it was an amazing experience! We chatted for hours until I drifted off to sleep for an afternoon nap. (Early morning flights are the WORST when you haven’t had any sleep).  When I woke she surprised me with an early birthday gift that I will always treasure and her 3 pups smothered me in doggy love.

For dinner, she took me to her favorite hibachi buffet.  We realized we share a soft spot for pot stickers, seafood and fruit (she loves pineapples, I love kiwi…it’s all about the kiwi)  She asked me about my new job and like most grandmothers expressed her excitement over my side project/love child this blog. She surprised me again later that night when she gave me a few products “to use for a product review”

  • Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Re Moist Intensive Hair treatment
  • Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

I haven’t done any skin product reviews but I’m willing to give it a shot. The wen product I am excited to try namely because I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about the brand.

Ain’t she precious!!

I cannot wait to go back and visit, sadly I had to leave early this morning for a trip that I picked up out of Newark. However, this time I plan on returning sooner rather than later. In the meantime I’m going to give this product a try and let you guys know how it works out for me.

As always
